The Royal Tern is much like the Least Tern but larger and so much more dramatic. Whether they are matting, courting, hunting for fish, or protecting their nest, these birds do it with flair and passion. As with most of the shore birds, both adults raise the young and enjoy a tight family structure. They also lay their eggs in large colonies of other shore birds which helps with the protection of each species.
