Mating Snowy Plovers

Mating Snowy Plovers

The Snowy Plover on the west coast of Florida is a very hard bird to find along our shores. Due to the encroachment of man and our destruction of their habitat, it has become common for only 2 or 3 chicks on any stretch of beach to make it to adulthood. The chicks, just after hatching, are very quick and constantly on the move finding food with both parents always on watch. These little birds are always my biggest challenge to photograph, but the countless hours of crawling around the beach is worth it.
