The Least Tern is a sea bird of small size but makes its presence known on the beaches of Florida. The adults enjoy a matting season full of drama and results in both birds raising the chicks. They are known for aggressively protecting their nests and young from animals, other birds and man. Nesting in large colonies along side other shore birds does help with fend off predators but does little with our encroachment.
