Rosie is 84 years old and works at a Denny's in Sarasota, Florida. Apparently she is the oldest waitress at Denny's in the country. I met her a few years ago and was so impressed with her spirit, attitude and work ethic, that I did this photo essay. Here is a woman that competes for customers with women half her age and gets pretty uppity if she feels left out. Rosie carries her own trays, does her side work in the back, and anything else needed. This feisty waitress has a list of customers that come in to eat and have done so for the 12 years she's worked there. Rosie has stated that she does not need to money to survive but she feels better working and interacting with people. Some of these customers have become friends outside the restaurant but the other employees still remain just coworkers.
